PNAM BOARD MEMBER RECEIVED $100,000 TWO-YEAR GRANT FROM MICHIGAN HEALTH
ENDOWMENT FUND

Dr. Meriam Caboral-Stevens, one of PNAM Board Members received a $100,000 two-year grant from Michigan Health Endowment Fund to support the program, Health Coaches: Wellness and Fitness for Older Asian Americans. Dr. Caboral-Stevens is the Principal Investigator (PI) and Dr. Tsu-Yin is the co-PI, both are faculty at Eastern Michigan University School of Nursing and the Center for Health Disparities Innovations and Studies. The award is granted to Eastern Michigan University. The program objectives are to train culturally congruent Asian American Health Coaches on physical activity and exercise, and 2) to promote physical activity and exercise to older community members by following them up for one-year. The training of Health Coaches will start in early fall of 2020.
