On October 14, 1972, the Nurses Council of the Filipino American Association was formed in response to the plight of H1-Visa nurses. Adoring Brialliantes Tuanquin was appointed Council Director. In December 1973, the Nurses Council became officially a subchapter of the Philippine Nurses Association in Manila, Philippines and renamed Philippine Nurses Association of Michigan (PNAM) making it an autonomous professional group.
On July 8, 1974, the PNAM was officially chartered in the State of Michigan as non-stock, non- profit organization.
The PNA of Michigan is an organization dedicated to excellence. It values shared responsibility, team work, open commnication and collaboration .
Now on its 47th year anniversary, it continues to be pillar of strength and professional growth. It has overcome the challenges of human elements and turned them into opportunities.
